- Translate system-level requirements into detailed electrical specifications and robust circuit designs.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace power and environmental standards (e.g., MIL-STD-704, EMI, thermal, vibration).
- Develop and execute verification and qualification test plans.
- Select and validate components for performance, reliability, and MIL-spec compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, systems, and manufacturing teams.
- Partner with fabrication and manufacturing vendors to manage board builds, first articles, and production.
- Provide technical mentorship and drive improvements in engineering tools, workflows, and standards.
- Apply DFM/DFT principles throughout the design process.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience designing complex hardware systems.
- Expertise in:
- High-speed digital design (DDR3/4, PCIe, USB 3.0, DisplayPort)
- Mixed-signal, FPGA, and embedded system design
- Power and analog circuitry for aerospace or rugged environments
- Strong understanding of MIL-STD-704 and related standards.
- Skilled in performance analysis, simulation, and lab-based validation.
- Proficiency with schematic capture/PCB tools (Altium preferred).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FPGA design experience (VHDL/Verilog, timing closure, IP integration).
- Experience with fabrication documentation and DFM/DFA best practices.
- Background in environmental testing and airborne electronics.
- Familiarity with configuration management systems.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and improving engineering processes.
