Principal Software Engineer

A fast-growing startup is building AI-powered assistants that streamline workflows like contract management, renewals, compliance, and legal/finance requests. They’re seeking a senior software engineer to own end-to-end projects, ship features quickly, and help shape the technical foundation of their products.

This is a full time onsite position in San Francisco and visa sponsorship is not available.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain software using TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, LLMs (GPT, Claude, etc.)
• Work with product/design teams to translate requirements into scalable, reliable systems
• Drive code reviews, architecture, and technical planning
• Own major features from design to deployment with a focus on performance and security
• Contribute to evolving cloud-based infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes)
• Report directly to the CTO

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of full-stack engineering experience, ideally at high-growth or high-bar companies
• Strong background with TypeScript, cloud platforms, PostgreSQL, Redis, containers/orchestration
• Hands-on experience building with AI/LLMs
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog)
• Proven track record of rapid growth/promotion (strong “slope”)
• CS degree or equivalent technical foundation
• Bias for action: IC role, not a management position
