Systems Engineer
About the Role
Position: Systems Engineer
A leading technology company specializing in advanced augmented reality (AR) and aviation systems is looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer. This role is essential to the coordination, integration, and management of sophisticated engineering systems that combine cutting-edge hardware and software components. The ideal candidate will bring a strong systems thinking mindset, technical depth, and collaborative energy to ensure well-architected solutions and high-performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Translate high-level product requirements into subsystem and component specifications.

Conduct trade studies, technical analysis, and performance optimization across the system.

Collaborate across disciplines—hardware, software, optics, avionics, and more—to develop cohesive and feasible system designs.

Maintain comprehensive system specifications and a requirements management database.

Develop and update system block diagrams and interface control documentation (ICDs).
-
Monitor and manage allocations for weight, power, and other key resource budgets.
-
Work closely with test engineering teams to verify system performance and requirement compliance.
-
Lead planning and execution of system integration and verification activities.
-
Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) processes and provide detailed impact assessments.

Identify technical risks early and lead mitigation planning and execution.

Act as a key technical liaison, ensuring strong communication across all engineering and product teams.
Key Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, particularly in projects that integrate both hardware and software.

Solid foundation in hardware-focused systems (e.g., sensors, cameras, drones, robotics).

Proven experience with trade studies and technical evaluations for informed design choices.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
