Our client is a fast-growing EV and sustainable living company redefining how people work, rest, and travel through fully electric, solar-powered living vehicles. Built in Fremont, California by a team of automotive and consumer technology veterans, the company is disrupting the RV industry with a fully electric trailer designed for off-grid living, home backup power, and EV charging capability.

The company has recently transitioned from development into production and commercialization, with early sales underway and a Series C fundraising process in motion. With ambitions that extend beyond RVs into broader sustainable living systems, this is a high-growth hardware company operating at the intersection of automotive, energy, and consumer tech.

We are looking for a Manager of Manufacturing Quality Engineering with 7+ years of experience to build and lead the quality engineering function for a rapidly scaling EV manufacturer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing end-to-end quality systems across assembly and production, managing a small team, and owning supplier quality relationships across global manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and implement quality management systems and inspection frameworks from the ground up, including IQC, IPQC, and end-of-line (EOL) processes
  • Lead root cause investigations, MRB reviews, CAPAs, and SCARs to drive continuous production improvement
  • Manage and mentor a team of quality engineers and inspectors, setting standards and driving execution
  • Own supplier quality relationships with global manufacturing partners, including regular coordination with China-based suppliers outside standard working hours
  • Partner closely with Design, Manufacturing, and Production teams to embed quality into every stage of product development and production
  • Develop and maintain quality control plans, inspection standards, and continuous improvement processes across production lines

Key Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering within automotive or hardware industries
  • 2+ years of experience managing or leading a quality engineering team
  • Proven experience building quality systems and processes in a startup or early-stage manufacturing environment
  • Strong expertise in IQC, IPQC, and EOL inspection frameworks and quality control planning
  • Hands-on experience with FMEA, SPC, GD&T, MRB, CAPA, and SCAR processes
  • Experience managing global supplier quality relationships, including China-based manufacturing partners
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Based in the Bay Area and willing to work on-site 5 days per week in Fremont
