Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop reliable autonomous software systems and necessary simulations for validation.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from design to operations.
• Collaborate with various engineering teams to integrate and enhance overall aircraft systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience:

• 5-10 years in software development for safety-critical systems (e.g., aerospace, robotics, automotive).
• Proven track record in embedded systems or the Linux kernel.
• Extensive involvement in creating complete flight software stacks, not limited to embedded or simulation tasks.
• Familiarity with real-time and distributed computing systems.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields from a top-tier university.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in multi-layer flight software architecture (OS, networking, middleware).
• Strong coding skills in C++, Rust, or similar systems programming languages.
• Experience in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing.
• Basic understanding of controls, fluid systems, motors, or physical mechanics.

Soft Skills:

• High agency and the ability to work independently.

Additional Information

• Position based in San Francisco; must be available to work 5 days a week.
