Software Engineer – Systems

An ambitious, VC-backed startup is building a next-generation multimodal data warehouse, aiming to unify storage across diverse datasets including weather and climate data, financial time-series, genomics, point clouds, video, and images.

The company is composed of a small, elite engineering team operating across New York and London, and has secured long-term financial backing (7+ years of runway) from top-tier investors, including leaders of notable Series A and Seed rounds.

What they’re looking for:

• Deep expertise in low-level, high-performance software development and cloud-scale storage systems

• Strong experience in backend systems engineering, including storage engines, file formats, and distributed infrastructure

• Proven success in performance engineering and optimization

• Solid backend fundamentals with a strong technical mindset

• Proficiency with C/C++ or Rust

• Bonus: Familiarity with tools such as Apache Arrow, Parquet, DataFusion, Clickhouse, or DuckDB
